I have posted articles about “The Sound of Silence” before. And each time, folks come up with negative comments about what Simon and Garfunkel really meant. According to some of the commentators, it’s not a positive message.
But, I beg to differ.
These lyrics speak to me in a very profound way. I can relate to those words very differently than perhaps others do.
So, I’m posting them here, making my own comments about how they relate not only to me, but perhaps to many of you out there that are doing similar work as me, and are exhausted beyond exhaustion from this “journey” and from this unappreciated endeavor…

Hello darkness, my old friend
This is my method of operation. Going into the darkness means two things for me: to have the courage to confront what is not representative of Godliness, and to go into the void. It’s a lonely path to do this and one that is often misunderstood, because some are quick to judge that one is part of that darkness, when in reality it’s just the opposite. Going into the darkness as a void is the way to block external noise. It means diving into that which is the primordial, blank canvas of Creator. This is how I am able to immerse myself with Creator, within that Original Void and Silence…
I’ve come to talk with you again
I’m back into conversation with Creator, reaching an understanding and/or instruction so that I can be used as an instrument to bring forth understanding to those that are needed to help in the endeavor to bring the Divine Plan of Creator on this planet.
Because a vision softly creeping
Left its seeds while I was sleeping
And the vision that was planted in my brain
Still remains
Within the sound of silence
This section indicates that I never really sleep. As I sleep, I am working and receiving guidance and information – and visions. It is in that vastness of Creator’s Creation that I bask in. I remove my mind from the equation, during the sleep process, and am able to receive without prejudice, bias or lower-mind noise. I am a receiver.
In restless dreams I walked alone
Narrow streets of cobblestone
‘Neath the halo of a street lamp
I turned my collar to the cold and damp
When my eyes were stabbed by the flash of a neon light
That split the night
And touched the sound of silence
This indicates the visions and KNOWING of something that is off, something that needs correction and it’s so poignant and blinding to me that I HAVE to take notice. It has to be communicated immediately and relentlessly.
And in the naked light I saw
Ten thousand people, maybe more
People talking without speaking
People hearing without listening
People writing songs that voices never share
And no one dared
Disturb the sound of silence
Within this blinding vision, I see thousands and maybe millions of people that are what seem to be communicating, but no one is listening to one another because everyone has their own message – or own grievance. They are too busy formulating their opinions and thinking about their next thought so that listening or being interested in what another has to say is not important. They refuse to contemplate the message being given by another and they take the attitude that someone’s message or experience is irrelevant or that the other person’s wisdom doesn’t matter .
The fact is that many people have amazing things to say, but don’t because they are afraid of being criticized or harmed by those that oppose their views. And so, despite the fact that there is so much “noise” via many attempting to make only their points heard, the messages cancel out. In truth, then, there is only silence – because there is truly no communication. And those that should be heard: the meek, the humble, the wise, the “connected”, the one’s who’ve traveled “miles and miles” in this journey through life, their voices are drowned and Silenced. They are Silenced because they feel threatened and overwhelmed. They probably think, “what difference does my opinion make? My opinion doesn’t count…”
And so, we’re left with “Fools” who will never grasp the true workings of Universal Mind, because there is perhaps no desire to go into That Silence – that space within – in order to really understand via Higher Wisdom and via Communion with something greater than their Loud Voice and Imposed Ideologies.

Silence like a cancer grows
Hear my words that I might teach you
Take my arms that I might reach you
But my words, like silent raindrops fell
And echoed in the wells of silence
This is how I feel most of the time, when I have to present information that is uncomfortable. I do “Break the Silence”, though, because it is a way to shatter what afflicts most of us: Apathy, Indifference, Compliance, Laziness, Jadedness, Denial and Lack of Discernment. By prescribing to these attitudes and behaviors, we become instruments of that which enslaves all of us, and what will ultimately remove our Voice altogether.
Speaking up and taking action is why we’re embodied, giving us the ability to move and create in this dimension and world. It is what helps correct the Mis-Creation or the Matrix that has been shoved and imposed onto this world by sinister forces that know how to work both sides of the coin. These “forces” and their agents understand the rhetoric and emotionally-charged causes necessary to win us over, as we think we’re doing the right thing, and fighting for the “right” cause. They simulate being loving and benign, and all along they are impostors luring us into a trap of disempowerment.
With that said, when I write, speak, and sound the alarm, my words seem to fall like silent raindrops, and echo in the wells of silence – as most don’t understand the message or it’s an “inconvenient” truth that most don’t wish to get disturbed by.
And the people bowed and prayed
To the neon god they made
And the sign flashed out its warning
In the words that it was forming
And the sign said, the words of the prophets are written on the subway walls
And tenement halls
And whispered in the sounds of silence
People have their own rituals, their own idiosyncrasies, their own gods and methods of worshiping these gods. Most, though, are totally immersed into The Matrix – which includes working, striving, taking medication, consuming, spending and taking care of necessary and often unnecessary biological needs.
And yet, within this Matrix, and for those with eyes that can “see”, we’ll find the message that gives a strong warning about our future. The truth is sometimes found by the speech or comments of the most insignificant of us. Remember Frodo and Sam in “Lord of the Rings”. The most insignificant of us can make a difference in effecting positive outcome and changing the course of history !
There are many of us that are not well-known bloggers, or famous gurus, or well-known “channelers” or famous authors or celebrities… True wisdom, however, may come from those who quietly “walk the walk” and go about their day, in that great Silence – because they have no other form of “stimulus” other than going within!
And so, we can see wisdom and profound statements written on subway walls and/or tenement halls… And yes, whispered in the sounds of silence, because within that Sound is ALL Information and ALL Truth.

If you listen to it now, with the meaning I have given, maybe it will move you the way it moves me… Or at least, you may get to understand me a bit more. And if you still don’t like it, that’s okay too. I can’t reach everyone. I’m just a messenger – one of many!
But, all that I ask is that we grow stronger in our spiritual path, strong enough to see objectively what lies before us, should we take No action; especially when the world that we’re a part of is not falling in line with the Divine Blueprint. That is OUR responsibility – not our government, our neighbor’s or some Guru off in India.
Our efforts and life-experiences count! Be a part of the solution, not the problem. Get informed correctly and please use your God-given gift of Discernment to navigate through the seas of Deception.
We’re in a dense realm, one that is facing grave challenges. We need each other more than ever. Let’s not talk over one another so that we make another feel that their voice doesn’t count, and that they don’t matter. We are, after all, in this together. Let’s uplift and edify one another so that we can be inspired to overcome anything!
